Approximately 3 million green metric tons (GMT) of unmarketable residuals are available in the Northwest Ontario region, constituting an untapped resource which could be used for biofuels production.

There is a strong, clear demand for fuel, especially from heavy industry players, extending into the next decade. This study lays out the business case for a biofuels production facility in Northwest Ontario, allowing for further decarbonization in carbon-intensive sectors, while supporting domestic industries.
