On March 25, 2026, Studio VMA, in collaboration with CRIBE and Nextfor, hosted a stakeholder workshop focused on advancing wood fibre insulation in Ontario. The session brought together participants from across the forest sector, manufacturing, architecture, engineering, policy, and research communities to review findings from the Wood Fibre Insulation Market Study and discuss pathways toward market adoption.

The workshop was structured around a presentation of the Ontario roadmap—examining market potential, fibre supply, regulatory conditions, and industrial opportunities—followed by a guided discussion to gather sector-specific insights and feedback. The session aimed to present key findings, validate market and supply assumptions, identify barriers to adoption, and gather input to inform implementation strategies.

Discussions emphasized the role of wood fibre insulation as a strategic opportunity within Ontario’s forest-based bioeconomy, linking low-carbon construction, housing delivery, and regional economic development. Participants expressed strong interest in the material’s potential, while also identifying key barriers related to economics, regulatory approval, and market readiness.
